It’s been ages since I last posted here and an update is long overdue.
On December 25, 2012, I went down on my knees and asked my girlfriend of three years – Rica to marry me. It’s been 3 years since I packed all my bags and moved to New York to build a new life. Prior to this, I’ve lived all my life in the Philippines.
It’s been an interesting journey. I’ve stayed in over 5 apartments, from the tiniest studio apartment in Brooklyn Heights to our humble one-bedroom in the Upper West Side. A place we’ve called home since May of 2012. I’ve been blessed with a great career, a new set of friends and of course, a loving relationship with Rica that continues to evolve up to this day.
During our engagement, we took on multiple jobs, worked on side-projects while coping with the challenges of seasonal change, homesickness and just trying to survive in New York. I still miss life in the Philippines, but New York feels more like home to me now.
I’d like to think we did pretty well. Rica and I got married last December 21, 2013 in the Philippines. We’re pretty excited for what’s in store for us in this coming year.
